I also removed the paper label on motor and cleaned of adhesive residue with solvent. Then put heat sink on. Seems to me that will get best thermal contact for most effective cooling. I'm sure that poor little motor needs all the help it can get ;-)

It is a good idea to "knead" the heatsink compound packet BEFORE opening, so it is well mixed and creamy paste, not watery dribble like mine did at first.

Also, cut off only a very tiny corner, it does not take much.

Fold over end when done and secure with a small binder clip.
